A Failed verse

Remember this, O my soul,
In the darkest night
Or when the future appears
Extraordinarily and impatiently bright:

As friends are necessary
For the goodness of community,
As love is necessary
To enable perfect unity,

To sustain life functions,
One needs water and food.
Each of these things
Is intrinsically good

So the present was designed
With purpose, and necessary
Therefore it must be good
It is not pointless.
