Puppeteer?

It's sick, you know,
just awful, the way I
control you. Like a
puppeteer. OK.
Maybe not like that.
That's giving myself too much credit.

Maybe like a
magician to his crowd.
I decide what
you see.
But actually I'm no
great performer.

It's still crazy, though,
how I manipulate
your perception!
Like a
Shape shifter! Dexterous,
agile.
Oh, I have such power.
I swear! I do!

(Even if sometimes I feel like a shape shifter because each new person I meet
shoves me!
into a different box and I being a pushover accept this and act accordingly)
